PS3... it only does everything. Now it's even a time machine taking us back to 1999. Take THAT xbox!!!

| Its apparently not letting most people with a fat PS3 sign in. A lot of people have lost trophies they've earned... saved data and game data. Some newer games like Dante's Inferno and Heavy Rain won't work at all for some people with first generation PS3s since this happened yesterday.
Its a firmware issue people are thinking... dealing with the date/time component of the system.

| Yeah the latest post is advising people with older models to NOT TURN ON THE SYSTEM... as its causing functionality issues and you may lose trophies, save data and game data. | |

| You lost all your trophies or your worried about losing them?
If you don't have a slim and are worried about losing data I wouldn't turn my system on at all right now until they come back with more information.

| You can turn it on. Just disable the auto sign-in so you wont get the error message. | |

| Ok so now that they've solved the problems you can sign back in but you have to manually change the date, i stumbled onto this yesterday on accident when i realized i had GOWIII Downloaded since Dec 31, 1999. I changed it but had no problem signing in until today, it didn't save my new time i had to put it in again.....but appearantly they've already resolved it. Hoo Ray | |

| Sup Family...I don't know if the problem is fixed yet because I'm just now looking at these posts and I wasn't having a problem until today, probably around 2 p.m....and i've been thinking this whole time that it was my modem or router or SOMETHING !...GenX, once i saw your latest post i reset my PS3 and took off the Auto Sign-in and i'm still unable to get in...Haven't lost any data or anything like that, though. Any suggestions?... ~HYiPE!~ | |

| if your trophies were synced then you can get them back by inserting the game to resetup the trophy list and then sync again and trophies will be there. As for data lost i did not have any. I couldn't play not one game i have they all said trophy registation error the game will now exit. I am not mad that the problem came up i am more mad that i couldn't even play an 1 player game offline. PSN is free you can't complain but when it starts affecting your games and ps3 things you paid cash for then there is a big problem. Im a firm supporter of the fat ps3s (not that i don't like the slim) and the one other thing that bothers me about this is why is it only the fat models that had problems and not the slims. It seems to me that sony knew something about this when they engineered the slim. And didn't address the issue with the phat ps3. At first sony claimed network mainteneince then said they were aware of the problems and then said slims were fine and they were fixing it. It just seems really odd that they would bs people like that for something they didn't know about. Only when people realized slims were fine and could still sign in did sony admit it wasn't network maitinance. When i tryed to call sony this morning to see what was going on i got a recording saying that they apoligize for any inconveniences but they were not taking any calls at this time thank you goodbye. That is what sony did to help customers not even take calls. I am glad they fixed the problem but i have to say my faith in sonys business is starting to fade after 3 ps3s and now this line of garbage or not being able to play any games without internet is crap. Sorry to bitch everyone but this really bothered me. | |

| Well its nuts cuz it wasn't a PSN problem at all. People who had never hooked their PS3's to the net had the same issue. The internal clocks were all screwed up. A lot of people with lost saved data are pissed. I have a friend on my list that was one trophy away from the SF4 platinum. Now his trophies were synced so he didn't lose them but he lost the save data so he can finish. It really sucks and I don't see how they weren't aware this might happen. | |
