Gran Turismo 5 takes the series to a whole new level. A first for the franchise, The game supports online racing and features over 1000 CARS, over 20 courses, 70 variations, the newest hybrid cars and electric cars, a new physics engine, a new in-cockpit view, HD support, and much more. Gran Turismo will feature both a single player and split screen two player arcade mode. GT Mode includes world map, my garage, car dealer, tuning shop, championship race, and license test. Online support includes open lobby, text/voice chat, private room, online photo album, online replay album, and export of replays to YouTube.
“The damage physics are going to be applied to things like a bent suspension arm, tires hitting the wheel wells of a car, deformation of the body affecting alignment, the loss of power to the engine. We’re still working on setting the sensitivity level of of the damage. You can have it so if you have a single hit your car isn’t going to be able to be driven anymore. It’s a matter of adjustment.”
“The most difficult part is actually NASCAR. Their rules are really, really complex. It’s almost the difference between soccer and American football. I’m not quite sure of just how much of NASCAR’s rules we’ll be able to implement but we’re going to try.”
WRC
"You’ll be able to use this head tracking technology to manipulate the Cockpit Camera and presumably look through the corners and at your opponents with the simple turn of your head. The movement of Cockpit Camera interface will be in full 3-D, the camera can be fully manipulated and you can opt to have your head tracked by the PSEye”

I can't wait to drive the ZR1. This game is gonna be badass!
P.S. Why does it say the application isn't supported for videos from that site on the PS3?

Some embedded videos STOPPED working after the last firmware, it seems like everytime they add something new, something old breaks.
Of course the videos work on a PC.

Nah it's got something to do with the player that gametrailers.com is using not being compatible with the PS3. The PS3 only does ALMOST everything. LOL

It's not just Gametrailers Hells, it's a FEW sites including the OFFICIAL PS FORUM vids (EPIC FAIL) that stopped working after the 3.10 update as well!!!
Okay I just played the demo early off the Japanese store and it was a major letdown for me. All of you hardcore GT guys will probably love it, it's more of the same, just with a fresh coat of paint. I was expecting a fresh new experience with the core gameplay, but nothing has changed much to make me a fan. My main issue with GT has always been the lackluster sense of speed, it just never felt or looked like you were going really fast at top speeds. I assumed with all the PS3's tools at they're disposal, that Polyphony would make the core experience a bit more faster, sadly this isn't the case. I understand that GT has always been a true sim, but sadly the game is still boring .
It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to the next-gen GT, but I'm gonna have to pass and just be done with this franchise once and for all. But again, you hardcore guys will probably love the game, the visuals, sound and controls are unparelled. For me, I just need a racer that's more exciting and fun.

If that's the case, you might wanna take a look at Grid if you haven't already. It's a very good racing game. The Pagani Zonda almost makes me drool. It's got crash damage and online racing. You can make a race and invite your friends or just leave it open for anyone to join.
If GT5 is anything like GT4 but better, I will definitely be buying it.

I have played Gran turismo since the first one and if it is everything tony is saying i can't wait. I have always thought the sense of speed was perfect and the handling and driving is as close to really driving as you can get. I have played grid, dirt all the motorstorms and i have been really missing a decent racing sim and finally gt5 is almost upon us.
