So how does the gear work? Is it unlockables with rank or what? How many ranks?...and is there anyway to differentiate between clans... like look colors..insignias?

I dont think its customizable. A lot of it you unlock as you rank up. Everything from guns, to the amount of ammo and grenades, to the type of character you can be... ie medic, engineer etc.

There are only like.... 10 or 12 ranks... which in one weekend I am already half way to the top. I'm wondering if they're going to fix this because it doesn't leave a lot to work towards.

Maybe they did that on purpose since their are classes. If one team had a certain class that the other didn't it may throw it off even though a class really doesn't change the game unless you know what your doing and working as a team.
