In short if you havent seen the anime, do yourself a favor. It's one of the best series out, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson and scored by the RZA (Killabeez stand up!).

am actually anime' fan and all i can say is that afro samurai is nothing more than a flashback to the blacksploitation films of the seventies, now don't get me wrong it's very well done and sam does one heckuva job voicing afro and his conscience, is that his conscience: ie, imaginary friend or is he real i can never figure that out?, however it's still nicely done and worth a look see if you've never seen it.

Naw Ninja Ninja is just his self conscience, he's just a figment of Afro's imagination. Funny you said that, I never got a blaxploitation vibe from it. It's just a simple story with great aesthetics and music.

I should do a damn Boondocks appreciation post! That show is the best on TV man. You gotta get the box-set and hear then unedited! HILARIOUS!!
Your right, but I never got the sense they were trying to make a mockery of him, I thought the show had a serious tone.
"Challenge me when you are ready to duel a god..." WHEW!! Justice sounds a bit familiar...
